In Memory of Rambo

Parent- Debbie Malloy

15 February 1996 - 15 May 2006

Rambo was found wondering in a field, starved and scared. No one claimed him so I believe he was a gift from God to us. The vet thought he was about 3 months old and he weighed only 3 lbs.

For the past five years after his successful liver shunt surgery, Rambo has dealt with multiple health issues stemming from several vets mis-diagnosis of his late-life liver shunt.

On May 18, 2006 Rambo's fight against the ravages of Liver Shunt and kidney failure (Glomerular nephritis) ended peacefully at home.  It was a hard agonizing decision. He was surrounded by loving fur-sisters Sweet Pea, Laci and Lolita; his human sister Amy and her husband Kevin and his human brother Eric.  Dr. Donna and Nurse Megan came to the house to help ease his journey to the Rainbow Bridge.  He was greeted at the entrance by his cousin Travis and his very special list friends that have gone before him.

 Be free and happy my little guy and one day we again shall be together. "If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever!"

This poem is dedicated to Rambo by his Mom Debbie:

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be;
So He put His arms around you and whispered, "Come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands set to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
A million times we've needed you and a million times we've cried.
If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died.
A heart of gold stopped beating; Two smiling eyes closed to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
