Rescued from a Puppy Mill in Missouri in March 2008 from unspeakable living conditions, we were devoted to taking care of you and giving you the very best life. Even though you were sick, required two surgeries and suffered from Kidney damage, it was our profound privilege to provide you with the best medical care. We were stunned by your unexpected departure on June 18th and we are now left heartbroken. There will never be another Gracie! The passing of this precious and much loved family member has washed us both with the grief and feelings of profound loss that only a fellow animal lover can understand.

Dear Lord, please open your gates and call St. Francis to come escort my beloved companion Gracie across the Rainbow Bridge.

Assign her to a place of honor, for she has been a faithful servant and has always done her best to please us.

Grant us the strength not to dwell on our loss.

Help us remember the details of her life with the love she have shown us.

And grant us the courage to honor her by sharing those memories with others.

Let her remember us as well and let her know that we will always love her.

And when it's our time to pass over into your paradise, please allow her to accompany those who will bring us home.

Thank you, Lord, for the gift of her companionship and for the time we've had together.

And thank you, Lord for granting us the strength to accept her passing, knowing she is finally at rest and in peace.
